I find this book average. It did not “wow” me but was an easy quick read. For people who possess most if not all of the traits of a person with a high “EQ”, this book is not very helpful other than assuring you of the good things that you are already doing.

There are many books out there which talk about the science behind EQ. What I enjoyed most is Ryan James provides a concise summary of actions you can take to increase your personal Emotional Intelligence.Several chapters include questions you can ask to understand your current level of EQ that help in my personal journey to improve my level of emotional intelligence. Each chapter provides examples and key actions. While not all examples may apply to you and some appear more extreme, the biggest thing to remember is they most certainly happened to someone and we can learn from their experience.This book is a quick, easy read so you can focus more on taking action to enhance your EQ. I personally read the book completely through then went back to tip number 1 and started my journey by re-reading it and working through the questions pertaining to that chapter. Focusing in this way and moving through at my own pace gives me a practical guide which I can use to progress towards my goal at my own speed.This is the 2nd Ryan James book I have read, the first being “Stoicism: An Introduction to the Stoic Way of Life”. I found Ryan’s style comfortable, easy to read, actionable and engaging. This is definitely worth a read.**Note: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a well written book on a science that is not easy to explain. I was quite pleased with this help for an area of my life that I forgot about. I must admit that I downloaded this as a free kindle book. I look forward to reading more of the author's material on psychology/
